Cyber Invest Business Grant Round 1 is now closed for business applicants and service providers.
Round 2 will open in September 2026.

To apply for a grant through the Cyber Invest Business Program, your business must:
- be small to medium sized business with under 200 full-time employees
- be a Territory enterprise
- have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN)
- have an annual turnover of less than $10 million.

Before a business can apply you should complete a cybersecurity threat or risk assessment on your current digital environment and cybersecurity posture. Refer to the free resources below.
Free resources
Grant applicants are encouraged to access the following free services and resources before engaging an approved service provider.
These resources will aid small business owners and managers to understand their cyber risk and help to inform the development of their Cyber Invest Plan.
- Cyber Wardens online cyber awareness training and resources.
- Australian Government’s Department of Business:
- IDCARE on behalf of the Australian Government - Small Business Cyber Resilience Service Assessment is available to businesses with 19 or less employees.
- Australian Government’s Australian Signals Directorate:
- Australian Government's Department of Home Affairs Cyber Health Check is free and anonymous online tool with simple steps to build cyber awareness and maturity.
What you can apply for
Eligible services under a Cyber Invest Plan include:
- implement cybersecurity controls uplift and associated business policy and process uplift, including implementation of software as a service (SaaS), and cyber assurance
- implement transition to managed service provider services or cloud services
- develop or review business continuity plans to incorporate cybersecurity incidents
- develop a cybersecurity incident plan
- undertake a cybersecurity incident exercise and evaluation.
Grant applicants must work with an approved service provider to develop a Cyber Invest Plan proposal.

Approved service providers
Services must be provided by an approved service provider.
Search and select an approved provider using the directory on the Northern Territory Government's Business Territory website.
You must perform your own due diligence to ensure a provider is suitable for your needs.
If your chosen provider is not listed, they must apply to become an approved service provider before your grant can be assessed.
