Computer Security Day is this Sunday

Computer Security Day started in 1988 and held on 30 November each year.

The day isn't just about safeguarding our gadgets against evolving cyber threats; it's also about protecting our personal and business data from unauthorised access and misuse.

Spend the day safeguarding yourself:

  • change and update your passwords, especially if you use the same old password for all your online accounts, making you vulnerable to hackers
  • research and sign up for a password manager. It helps manage your many passwords by generating random passwords and saves them, so you don’t have to remember
  • update all your spyware and malware protection software
  • back up your files and photographs.

See the personal cyber security guides on Australian Government’s Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) website.

If you own a business, consider applying for a Cyber Invest business grant. Read more about the program and advice for cyber security advice for small business.
